What is your life’s purpose?
To self-actualize, using continually growing talents, skills, and experiences to help others lead better lives.

How are you living your purpose?
I’ve created global communities of entrepreneurs, boutique firm owners, and solo practitioners who I’ve connected virtually and in reality to exchange best practices and new ideas. I inject new intellectual property and value into these communities weekly. I use technology and broadcast media, as well as special events, to reach them and respond to their needs.

How did you find your purpose?
I hated selling. I realized that the easiest transaction had two elements. First, I wasn’t selling and taking money, I was offering value and helping others. That meant I wasn’t intruding or pursuing but rather serving. Second, the more brand power, exposure, and visibility I have, the more people pursue me, meaning we work together on my terms using my best practices.

What advice do you have for purpose seekers?
You DON’T find purpose. That would mean using others’ metrics, other’s routes. You CREATE purpose. You determine your own raison d’être, which may well change as you grow.

What resources do you recommend?

Alan, this is the most motivating statements I have ever read. I would recommend these to whoever wants to change and improve his/her life’s purpose. Well done.

I really liked the part where you don’t “find” purpose, as that is operating under other people’s metrics, but rather create it under your own. That’s really insightful as I feel like I (and probably others) tend to look outward at others goals/progress/lives etc as a comparison.
