Fostering the Sacred Feminine: Cerridwen Fallingstar

Published on 06/02/2020

What is your life’s purpose?

My life’s purpose is bringing the Goddess, the sacred feminine, back to our culture.

How are you living your purpose?

To reach this goal, I write books about magic and Goddess worship, and teach classes which help my students find their inner Goddess and God. As I say in my brochure for my year-long apprenticeship program, “My goal is not just to transmit information to you but to develop your trust in your own intuition and inspiration so that you can ‘make up’ an effective, sacred, spiritual-magical path which—like the willow from which Witchcraft is named—will be strong enough and flexible enough to support and enrich you throughout your whole life.”

As a licensed minister, I also perform weddings, memorial services, rites of passage and seasonal rituals designed to create depth, meaning, healing, intimacy, and spirituality relevant for our times. Individual sessions involving psychic readings and hypnotherapy encourage my clients to find their path and walk it with courage.

How did you find your purpose?

In Los Angeles in 1975, at 22, working as a journalist for a feminist magazine, I was assigned to cover the trial of a Witch accused of fortune telling. Having always had strong psychic experiences, including past-life memories, I was wildly intrigued to find that there were still Witches in the world. I enrolled in classes and swiftly became a teacher myself.

What advice do you have for purpose seekers?

I suggest therapy, hypnosis, and growth workshops to deepen each person’s understanding of themselves and what will truly make them fulfilled. It is not always about following your bliss. Sometimes your true path will scare the pants off you to contemplate.

What resources do you recommend?

If Witchcraft interests you, I recommend The Spiral Dance: A Rebirth of the Ancient Religion of the Goddess, by Starhawk as a good beginner’s introduction. The Covenant of the Goddess: A Collection for the Parliament of the World’s Religions can provide you with connections to Witches all over the world. My new book, Broth from the Cauldron: A Wisdom Journey through Everyday Magic, is designed to inspire appreciation for your own ‘everyday magic’, your own remarkable path.
