My Favorite TV Shows

If you know me, you know I love TV. There’s nothing I like better than cozying up on the couch after a long day of work or play and sinking into a great show. I really do believe we are going through a television renaissance, with so many great series produced by both cable and streaming outlets—and the timing couldn’t be more perfect during Covid.

When I fall in love with a show, I fall hard. I binge the series and take every opportunity to bring it up in conversation. I’m always overjoyed when I encounter other fans and we can wax poetic together.

I just finished watching Crazy Ex-Girlfriend—it’s kooky and raunchy and features sporadic singing (what? I am NOT a fan of musicals!) but stick with it and you may just fall in love. I think I have a girl crush on the lead, Rachel Leah Bloom, who exemplifies fearlessness, and I’m actually jealous thinking of some of you who may just be starting the show, knowing you have 4 glorious seasons ahead of you.

So today I’m sharing my favorite TV series that I’ve watched in the last 5 years or so, and hoping you’ll share yours too. These are organized by genre and in no particular order but are all wonderful (according to ME)!

Thanks Emma! I could not get into Game of Thrones and think I need to give Yellowstone another try. I’ll check out the others too.

I like a lot of these. Loved Succession and will have to check out the Parisian agency. I’ve seen it but never looked into it.

This is a great resource – I love getting new recommendations as I, too, enjoy watching TV. I agree with some of your favs – can’t wait for the next season of Succession. And I do recommend trying Yellowstone again, it took me a few tries but it is now one of my favorites of all time. However, quite a lot of violence so I always hesitate to recommend those ones. I see Hacks on your list so that is one I’m adding to my list. Thank you!

What’s Your Biggest Regret?

When I read about Daniel Pink's latest endeavor, I was eager to participate. His one question: What's your biggest regret? I didn't have to think long about this one. My biggest regret, I wrote, is not taking a gap year after graduating high school. To be fair, it...
