Tell us a little about your background.
I grew up on the South Side of Chicago, then in the southern suburbs, with my younger brother, sister, and parents. In junior high, I did a few plays, made chorus in 8th grade, and shared the role of Oliver in the musical “Oliver!” In high school, I was on the speech team, worked at the radio station, wrote for the newspaper, sang in varsity choir, and performed in a few plays and a musical.
